Finding Open Doors (Pt.2)
Question: How do we “discover” God’s open doors for our lives? How does that happen?
Context helps us appreciate what’s important.
Acts 16:6-10 “They passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia; and after they came to Mysia, they were trying to go into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them; and passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas. A vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing and appealing to him, and saying, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”
Commitment helps us focus on what’s important.
First, Paul kept trusting.
Acts 16:6-8 They passed through . . . having been forbidden . . . they were trying to go . .the Spirit of Jesus did not permit . . . they came down to Troas.
Second, Paul kept moving.
Acts 16:6ff Phrygia . . . Galatia . . . Asia . . . Mysia . . . Bithynia . . . Troas . . . Come over to Macedonia and help us . . . immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
Considerations:
1. Do some of you feel that you’re in Troas right now? You don’t know where God is taking you?
2. Are you willing to trust God with your future, and continue to look for His open door—not yours?
